I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share with you my excitement in recently being appointed the new principal of Stephens County Fifth Grade Academy for the 2016-17 school year.    I can assure you that I am committed to creating a safe, positive and high-achieving environment for all students. I am excited to have this opportunity to tell you a little about myself.

This year will mark the beginning of my 21st year in education.  I taught math for 16 years before becoming an administrator in the fall of 2012.  I received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Master of Arts in Teaching Mathematics from Piedmont College.  I went on to earn my Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Lincoln Memorial University.

Along with teachers and staff, I will work hard to continue the legacy of success established in Stephens County by building strong relationships with parents, students, and community partners.  We will focus on character education initiatives, Georgia Standards of Excellence, use of data to inform instruction, and providing exciting and challenging enrichment opportunities for all students.

During the course of the year, I look forward to working together to give our students the best opportunities and to provide them with a strong foundation for their future.  As Principal, my door is always open and I welcome your input.  Please feel free to stop in or call to make an appointment to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make this the best year yet!
